The PTEN Innovation Awards recognize those outstanding companies whose products respond to the automotive repair industry's market challenges with creativity and innovation. We invite you to nominate your company for this prestigious award. 

 

Entry Information

Early Bird Entry Fee: $315 U.S. for the first entry. Additional entries from the same company are $195 each. 
Early Bird Deadline: March 1, 2024

Regular Entry Fee: $350 U.S. for the first entry. Additional entries from the same company are $195 each.
Final Deadline: March 22, 2024

Payment: Credit card payments are preferred, but an invoice can also be requested. 

Eligibility/Rules

1. Products must be introduced and available for purchase by the end user between January 2023 and December 2023 to qualify. 
2. Products must be innovative, meaning they must be new to the automotive industry or substantially updated within the last year. This does not include label or packaging updates.
3. Companies must submit a completed entry form for each individual product entered.
4. A product may only be entered once, but a company may submit more than one new and innovative product. 
5. Editorial has the right to move entries to more appropriate categories if necessary (company will be notified of category change).

Judging

Each entry will undergo a preliminary review by the editorial team to ensure its accuracy, innovativeness, and eligibility. If the editorial team has any questions or concerns regarding the product entry, they will reach out to the applicant.

All entries will then be judged by our panel of professional automotive technician judges, who will evaluate the products based on five criteria:

1. Time savings
2. Task simplification
3. Uniqueness
4. Level of improvement over current tool
5. Ease of use

Each product is given a score out of 50. An N/A option is available if a tool does not pertain to the judge or falls outside their area of expertise. If only one product has been entered in a category, the product must meet a minimum threshold score of 30 or more to win the category otherwise it will receive an honorable mention.

Results  

All products submitted will receive digital exposure.

The products selected as category winners by our panel of judges will be published in the September 2024 issues of PTEN and Professional Distributor as well as in their newsletters and on their social media platforms.

Those with the highest scores will be interviewed by a PTEN editor and will receive additional coverage in the coming year.

Once the results are in and the category winners have been selected, the products reviewed by our panel of professional automotive technician judges will be entered into our 2024 PTEN People’s Choice Awards. 

The PTEN People's Choice Awards allows our readers to vote on their top products. Voting will be open from June 1 through July 31. Winners of the 2024 PTEN People's Choice will be published in the October issues of PTEN and Professional Distributor as well as in their newsletters and on their social media platforms.

By submitting a 2024 PTEN Innovation Awards Submission Form, each entrant understands that submissions become the property of Endeavor Business Media, LLC and further releases and holds harmless Endeavor Business Media, LLC, its officers, employees, agents, representatives and the Judges of the 2024 PTEN Innovation Awards Submission, from any and all claims, damages or loss, including but not limited to: loss of current or future business or profits or any harm to reputation and regardless of whether Endeavor Business Media, LLC was advised of the possibility of such damages, due to submitting an entry, the entrant’s product review score or the publication of other Innovators Awards Scores. This release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted and includes all claims in tort, contract, equity or otherwise and if any portion therefore is held invalid, the undersigned agrees that the balance shall continue in full force and effect. Entrant further agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action, arising out of or in connection with 2024 PTEN Innovation Awards shall be resolved individually, without class action, and any judicial proceeding shall take place in the state or federal courts within the state of Tennessee and be adjudicated in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee; (2) any and all claims, judgements and awards shall be limited to out-of-pocket-costs incurred, including costs incurred in entering, but in no event shall include an award of attorney’s fees’ and (3) Entrant waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, loss of profits, and any other damages and rights to have damages multiplied or increased. Entrant further agrees that the judge’s decision relating to the Innovators Score is FINAL.
